When 24-year-old Bhanu Prakash, from Hyderabad, India, realised that his job was eating into his precious selfie-time, he decided to quit working altogether. He now spends all his time taking pictures of himself, and training to break the world record for most selfies in an hour. The record currently belongs to American football player Patrick Peterson, who managed to click himself 1,449 times!

來自印度海得拉巴的24歲男孩巴努·普拉卡什覺得工作占用了自己寶貴的自拍時間，于是他決定辭掉工作。現(xiàn)在他整天忙著給自己拍照片，并努力練習(xí)一小時內(nèi)完成最多自拍，打破世界紀(jì)錄。目前，這項世界紀(jì)錄的保持者是一位美國的足球運動員——帕特里克·彼得森，他每小時能自拍1449次!

Bhanu, who studied pharmacy in college, was working as a research assistant at a hospital in Hyderabad. He was already into the selfie trend big time, ever since his brother got him a smartphone with a front-facing camera, three years ago. “Almost the first thing I did when I got the phone in my hands was click a picture,” he recalled.

But his obsession reached new heights in May this year, when he overheard a conversation between a few kids on a bus – they were talking about Dwayne Johnson’s feat of clicking 105 selfies in three minutes.

今年五月，他對于自拍的迷戀又上升到了新的高度，偶爾一次搭乘公交車，他聽到一群孩子在議論德維恩·約翰遜3分鐘自拍了105次。

The very next day, Bhanu ended up clicking 120 selfies in three minutes with his colleagues. Bitten by the selfie-bug, he then looked up world records and discovered Patrick Peterson’s feat. 20 days later, he sent in his own application to the Guinness World Record challenging the record. And when his application was accepted in mid-August, he quit his job. “I wanted to focus on breaking the record,” he said. “My work hours were 10 am to 6pm and that wouldn’t leave me much time for practice.”

就在第二天，巴努和他的同事在三分鐘內(nèi)完成了120次自拍。正因為對自拍的迷戀，他查了這方面的世界紀(jì)錄，并發(fā)現(xiàn)世界紀(jì)錄保持者——帕特里克·彼得森的紀(jì)錄。20天后，他向吉尼斯世界紀(jì)錄提交了挑戰(zhàn)紀(jì)錄的申請。八月中旬，他的申請被接受，所以他辭掉了工作。“我想要集中精力練習(xí)，打破世界紀(jì)錄，”他說。“我的工作時間是上午十點到下午六點，這樣的話，我就沒有多少時間練習(xí)自拍了。”

Bhanu says his days begin and end with selfies. He’s purchased a tripod and and a selfie stick to practice various angles, and he works on strengthening his wrists and hands by holding his phone up for hours.
