As is depicted in the picture, holding a crutch in his left hand and tumbling accidentally, a pitiful and gentle old man with long gray beard is lying on the road unconsciously. Unfortunately, afraid of being falsely identified as offenders and sentenced to pay economic compensation, a great many passers-by are hesitant about whether to support the aged person

with their hands. The caption indicates: “After an old man falling down”.

The picture above illustrates that our current society is in need of social morality and traditional virtue, which can support us no matter how dark the world around us becomes. Being a nation renowned in the world for many of its traditional virtues, the Chinese people have been practicing social morality throughout history. As a matter of fact, people of many different cultures have regarded public morality as the most sublime of human emotions.

It is my view that the best way to show social morality is to help people who are more unfortunate than we are. We should always be ready to give a helping hand to those who are in trouble, no matter whether they are family members or complete strangers. Only by doing so can we help to make the world a better place, for, as the picture shows, the darker the shadows of misfortune become, the more brightly the lamp of public morality shines.

上面的圖畫闡明我們當(dāng)今社會(huì)急需社會(huì)公德與傳統(tǒng)美德。不論我們周圍的世界變得多么黑暗，它們都能支撐我們。作為一個(gè)以很多美德聞名于世的民族，中國人民在歷史上一直恪守社會(huì)公德。事實(shí)上，處于不同文化中的人們都把社會(huì)公德當(dāng)作人類最高尚的情感。

我認(rèn)為，展現(xiàn)社會(huì)公德的最好方式是幫助比我們更加不幸的人。我們應(yīng)該隨時(shí)準(zhǔn)備向有困難的人伸出援助之手，無論他們是家庭成員還是素昧平生。這樣，我們能夠助一臂之力把世界變成一個(gè)更美好的地方，因?yàn)?，正如圖畫所描繪的，不幸的陰影越黑暗，公德之燈的光芒就越閃亮。
