The 2014 Academic Ranking of World Universities (ARWU) is released today by the Center for World-Class Universities at Shanghai Jiao Tong University. Starting from 2003, ARWU has been presenting the world Top 500 universities annually based on transparent methodology and reliable data. It has been recognized as the precursor of global university rankings and the most trustworthy one。
上海交通大學(xué)[微博]世界一流大學(xué)研究中心今日正式發(fā)布了2014年“世界大學(xué)學(xué)術(shù)排名”，排名基于透明的評(píng)級(jí)方法和可靠的第三方數(shù)據(jù)列出了全球領(lǐng)先的500所研究型大學(xué)。自2003年首次發(fā)布以來(lái)，“世界大學(xué)學(xué)術(shù)排名”一直被公認(rèn)為世界大學(xué)排名的先驅(qū)及最具公信力的評(píng)價(jià)體系。
ARWU adopts six objective indicators to rank world universities, including the number of alumni and staff winning Nobel Prizes and Fields Medals, the number of Highly Cited Researchers, the number of articles published in journals of Nature and Science, the number of articles indexed in Science Citation Index - Expanded and Social Sciences Citation Index, and per capita performance. More than 1200 universities are actually ranked by ARWU every year and the best 500 universities are published。
“世界大學(xué)學(xué)術(shù)排名”以國(guó)際可比的科研成果和學(xué)術(shù)表現(xiàn)作為主要指標(biāo)，包括獲諾貝爾獎(jiǎng)和菲爾茲獎(jiǎng)的校友的折合數(shù)、獲諾貝爾獎(jiǎng)和菲爾茲獎(jiǎng)的教師的折合數(shù)、各學(xué)科領(lǐng)域被引用次數(shù)最高的科學(xué)家數(shù)、在Nature和Science雜志上發(fā)表的論文折合數(shù)、被科學(xué)引文索引(SCIE)和社會(huì)科學(xué)引文索引(SSCI)收錄的論文數(shù)、師均學(xué)術(shù)表現(xiàn)等。每年，“世界大學(xué)學(xué)術(shù)排名”都會(huì)對(duì)1200多所大學(xué)進(jìn)行排名，從中公布世界大學(xué)500強(qiáng)。
Harvard University remains the number one in the world for the 12th year, other Top 10 universities are: Stanford, MIT, Berkeley, Cambridge, Princeton, Caltech, Columbia, Chicago and Oxford. ETH Zurich (19th) takes first place in Continental Europe, followed by Pierre & Marie Curie (35th). University of Tokyo (21st) and Kyoto University (26th) top other universities in Asia. University of Melbourne (44th) becomes the highest ranked university in this region in the history of ARWU。
2014年“世界大學(xué)學(xué)術(shù)排名”結(jié)果顯示：美英大學(xué)的優(yōu)勢(shì)仍然非常明顯，哈佛大學(xué)連續(xù)十二年蟬聯(lián)全球第一，斯坦福大學(xué)、麻省理工學(xué)院、加州大學(xué)伯克利、劍橋大學(xué)、普林斯頓大學(xué)、加州理工學(xué)院、哥倫比亞大學(xué)、芝加哥大學(xué)和牛津大學(xué)分別位列第二至第十名。歐洲大陸排名最高的是瑞士蘇黎世聯(lián)邦理工學(xué)院，排在世界第十九位，緊隨其后的是排在第三十五位的巴黎六大。亞洲大學(xué)中表現(xiàn)最好的是日本的東京大學(xué)和京都大學(xué)，名次分別為第二十一名和第二十六名。澳洲大學(xué)中排名最高的是墨爾本大學(xué)，位列全球第四十四位。
